Bugisu Province to Host FUFA 2024 Drum Opening Ceremony

The Bugisu Province has been selected to host the opening ceremony of the 2024 FUFA Drum football tournament.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Mbale city Stadium.
“We expect a number of dignitaries in attendance, including the FUFA President, the Speaker of Parliament, FUFA delegates from other regions, the FUFA Executive, and all football lovers and supporters of the FUFA Drum,” said Isa Musiwa, Chairman of the Bugisu Province Football Team.
The ceremony is anticipated to be a major event for the region, and the organizers are working to generate excitement and support through media engagement.
“We have appointed all of you to be on the Media and Marketing Committees,” Musiwa told journalists at a press conference on Tuesday, 13th August, 2024.
By involving the media in the planning process, the organizers hope to attract more interest and sponsorship for the event. They are also looking to the media to help reach out to potential sponsors, including local politicians and businesses.
Journalists and other stakeholders who participate in the media and marketing committees will receive a 20% commission on any sponsorships they secure.
Bugisu Province Prepares for the 2024 FUFA Drum Tournament
Bugisu Province is ready to make a strong impression in the 2024 FUFA Drum tournament, as Head Coach Godfrey Toldo unveiled a formidable 35-man squad on Monday, August 12, at Mbale Stadium.
The team is eager to represent the province in the fifth edition of the tournament, which kicks off on August 24.
The tournament will begin with a preliminary stage featuring eight teams.
The winners of this stage will progress to the group stage, where they will join teams from Pots 3, 4, and 5.
These teams have been drawn into four groups of three each for example Preliminary Stage Matches are Bugisu vs. Karamoja, Ankole vs. Sebei, Bunyoro vs. Rwenzori then Kampala vs. Bukedi
In Group Stage Draws Group A: West Nile, Acholi, and the winner of Bugisu vs. Karamoja. Group B: Lango, Buganda, and the winner of Ankole vs. Sebei. Group C: Busoga, Kigezi, and the winner of Bunyoro vs. Rwenzori. Group D: Teso, Tooro, and the winner of Kampala vs. Bukedi.
