BUDUDA: Man Butchers Younger Brother to Death Over Land Wrangle

Police in Bududa district is currently holding 40 year old man on allegations of murdering his younger biological brother whom he accused of stopping him from selling a family piece of land.

 

The suspect has been identified as Geoffrey Wafula a resident of Murukuru village, Bukhura parish, Bumasheti Sub County in Bududa district.

 

According to Sam Mutiku, an eyewitness, on Monday evening, 28th October, 2024, Wafula attacked his brother who is now deceased known as Rogers Makwiri aged 38 with a panga and started cutting him at his home while he was having supper with his family.

 

He says Mutiku had misunderstandings with the brother who stopped him from selling the only clan piece of land being shared by all the six brothers.

 

Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying the suspect is currently being detained at Bududa central police station waiting to be taken to court and answer charges of murder under case number CRB 433/2024.
