BUDAKA: Speeding Gov’t Vehicle Knocks Two Riders Dead

Two people have been confirmed dead after being knocked by a speeding government vehicle in Budaka district on Monday, 11th November, 2024.

 

The accident happened at Naboa trading center along Mbale- Tirinyi high way at 5.pm according to Moses Mwanga Kityo, the Bukedi North region police commander.

 

While speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview, Kityo says that the Vehicle registration number UG 250003 knocked motorcycle number UFL 203K having a rider and passenger.

 

He says that both were coming from the same direction of Tirinyi heading to Mbale town when the motorcycle rider, not yet identified from nowhere tried to cross the road without looking at the side mirror.

 

Kityo says that the vehicle knocked the motorcycle and the passenger identified as John Muduku, a resident of Bunazomi village, Buwalasi Sub County in Sironko district who fell on the road and was crashed by the same vehicle killing him instantly.

 

The RPC adds that the rider was taken to Mbale regional referral hospital but also died on the way. The bodies have been given to relatives for burial as police still hunts for the unknown driver of the vehicle.

 

Both the vehicle and motorcycle are parked at Budaka central police station as investigations continue.
