A State Attorney at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs has been arrested and arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court on 16 counts of corruption.
Tusubira Sam who appeared before the Anti-Corruption Court today, 13th August, 2024 was remanded until 19th August 2024.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that carried out the investigations and arrest, Tusubira while representing government in court, solicited for a bribe of Shs100M from a plaintiff who had sued the Ministry of Lands and the Attorney General.
The Plaintiff was suing for irregular cancellation of his title and therefore wanted the accused to assist him get compensated.
By time of his arrest, Tusibira had allegedly already received about Shs43M from the victim.
