Police in Mubende District have launched a manhunt for a suspect accused of fatally stabbing another man he allegedly discovered with his wife in their home. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday in Ngowa LC1, Katente Parish, Kiyuni Subcounty.

According to Wamala Region Police spokesperson, Superintendent Racheal Kawala, the suspect, identified as Mutatina Khalisiti, reportedly returned home unexpectedly and found the victim, Ignitious Nyansiyo—also known as Muhwezi—in an intimate situation with his spouse.

Kawala noted that Khalisiti, who works as a lumberjack in Kagadi District and is often away from home, is believed to have suspected an ongoing affair between his wife and the deceased.

Upon discovering the two together, Khalisiti allegedly reacted violently and fatally stabbed Nyansiyo with a knife. Both the suspect and his wife reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Responding to a call, police arrived and found Nyansiyo’s body on the suspect’s bed. The body was later transferred to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Superintendent Kawala confirmed that investigations are underway and urged the public to assist law enforcement by providing any information that could lead to the arrest of Khalisiti and his wife.
