Angela talks music struggle in US

She blames this in part, on Ugandan media personalities, whom she accuses of bias.

It is hard to promote my music in Uganda,” Kalule told Eddy Ssendi on the sidelines of the UNAA Convention

“In Uganda, a singer can spend 100,000 to promote a song on the radio. But when they hear that you are in the US, the media people will demand more.”

Kalule also blamed the media for pushing the music of only a handful of musicians whom they think are good.

There is a particular set of people that media people think are the real singers no matter what they produce; even if it is garbage, they will promote it,” she said

“And it doesn’t matter how good my new song is; they will never push it. All they do is talk trash about us. Even the few fans I have start getting pessimistic because of the things said about me.”

Besides her hit songs such as Mulalo Wange, Katikitiki and Kankwekumile, Kalule has released new songs including “Ebyange Bibyo,” and Mazima Nkwagala” among others. She also has a new album she dropped recently.

In the US, however, she is mostly occupied with band performances where she does mostly cover songs.
