AMURIA
Christians of Holy Cross Catholic Parish Ongutoi in Abarilela sub-county, Amuria district are seeking about 700 million shillings for construction of a new Church.
Martin Asalu, the chairperson Ongutoi Parish Pastoral Council made the revelation during the groundbreaking ceremony held over the weekend officiated by Usuk Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Achedu.
Asalu said that they have started receiving contributions both in cash and in kind for the construction of the new church.
He therefore called upon well-wishers and partners to join hands in support of the construction project.
Justin Erochu who represented the Director of BP Design Moments Kampala, the awarded contractor said that according to the plan, this church will have a seating capacity of 1,000 people, latrine and offices.
He promised quality work as per the contract agreement within the stipulated period of two years.
Christians who attended the groundbreaking ceremony were overwhelmed with joy and promised to continue donating towards supporting church construction.
Meanwhile, Fr. Achedu in his homily asked Christians to embrace this project by offering their labour free of charge and contribute kindly.
