Weasel Manizo sued to beating promoter Nobert Twizire

The Uganda National Promoters Federation announced on Friday that they will be taking legal action against the Goodlyfe singer.

“Even if it was about money, if someone owes you money, do you just go and beat him up?” remarked Juma Balunywa from the promoters’ federation.

“Where does Weasel get the guts to beat up a promoter without even stopping to think of the years you spent eating grass, unable to make even one concert.

As a federation, we had a meeting and instructed our lawyer to start the process of taking Weasel to courts of law. He can accuse us of nonrepayment, but we shall take him on for assault. The courts will decide.

“We don’t want this to because a precedent where these people (musicians) start looking down on us.”

Weasel came out this week to accuse Twizire of refusing to pay him his cut from the Memories of Goodlyfe” which took place at Hotel Africana.

“…Mr. Nobat has yet to pay us for our performance,” he wrote.

Despite numerous attempts to reach out to him, our efforts have been met with silence. It’s unacceptable that we’ve been left unpaid for our work.

In response to these allegations, Twizire provided a detailed explanation of the financial arrangements between them and Weasel’s wife and manager, Sandra Teta.

According to Twizire, the agreement stipulated that he would pay Weasel Shs 40 million from gate collections, while the money collected from table sales would be shared equally between them.

However, the situation took a turn when Weasel’s team paid Twizire only Shs 12 million out of his agreed share, leaving a balance of Shs 33 million. In return, Twizire also paid only Shs 20 million out of the Shs 40 million he was supposed to pay Weasel from the gate collections.

Twizire claims that Weasel is trying to manipulate public opinion by making these accusations. He also accuses Weasel of using drugs and throwing a tantrum during their mediation meeting.
