Go Rot In Jail: Three Netted In Masaka For Stealing PDM Funds

This afternoon, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit working with Police arraigned Mutebi John Rogers, Bbale Joseph, and Matovu John, an Agricultural Officer/Focal Person for Masaka District, at the Masaka Chief Magistrates Court in Masaka City.

They face charges of theft and neglect of duty and, have been remanded until December 23, 2024.According to the Unit, the accused, Mutebi John Rogers and Bbale Joseph, in the months of December 2023 and October 2024 allegedly stole millions of shillings intended for the PDM SACCO members in Bukakata Sub-County, Masaka District.

Additionally, Matovu John, the Agricultural Officer/Focal Person for Masaka District, is accused of neglecting his supervisory responsibilities in monitoring the activities and progress of PDM SACCOs within the district.

”These arrests follow the joint inspection tour and baraza that was led by the Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Hon. Rose Lily Akello, to address service delivery gaps and in Greater Masaka District and City on November 23, 2024,” says the Unit.

SH-ACU was established under Article 99(4) of the constitution of Uganda, which gives the President executive powers to either directly or indirectly perform his duties or through officers subordinate to him.

Launched on 10th December 2018, SH-ACU coordinates with all constitutionally mandated agencies to ensure a corruption-free country.
