A mother and her one-year-old twins were found deceased in a garden in Ngoma Sub County, Nakaseke District. The incident has raised concerns, as authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths, which occurred inside a garden tent where they had sought shelter.
The deceased individuals were identified as Proscovia Namusoke, 25, and her one-year-old twins, named Nakato and Babirye. The discovery was made by a friend of the family, Josephine Nayigaga, a resident of Kilyasabo Village in Ngando Parish, who had gone to check on them. Upon entering the tent, she found them lifeless and immediately reported the incident to the local police post.
The bodies were subsequently transported to Nakaseke Hospital for a postmortem examination, which will help determine the cause of their deaths. This tragedy adds to a series of disturbing events in the region, including the recent case of an unidentified man who sexually assaulted and murdered a six-year-old girl in Kirangazi Village, Ngoma Sub County.
Residents of Ngando Village expressed their shock and fear over the deaths of the mother and her twin babies. Mathias Mugisha, a defense secretary in the village, emphasized that the circumstances of their deaths remain a mystery, leaving the community in a state of uncertainty and apprehension.
Josephine Naigaga, a close friend of the deceased, stated that she had seen Proscovia Namusoke in good health the previous Sunday evening. They had worked together on the farm, and her absence in the morning prompted Josephine to investigate, leading to the tragic discovery.
To address the rising security concerns in the area, Ngoma Sub County LCIII chairperson, Geoffrey Kizza, announced that they had convened a meeting on Monday. As a precaution, he urged all farm workers to register as residents at their respective LC1 offices and encouraged residents to report any suspicious individuals seen in the villages.
The deaths of the mother and her one-year-old twins remain under investigation as the authorities in Nakaseke work to shed light on this tragic incident and ensure the safety of the community.
