The victim, Patience Nannyonga, 13 years old and a Primary Six student at Kizibawo Primary School, was identified as the daughter of Eddie Sennyonga, a resident of Kizibawo Village in Kassanda District.
The unfortunate incident began when Patience was kidnapped from her grandmother’s home in Kizibawo Trading Centre by unidentified assailants. Her family initiated a search and reported her disappearance to the Bukuya Police Station. Tragically, on the evening, a resident of Namiryango village discovered her lifeless body in a garden owned by Mr. John Mbidde Kasule, in a neighboring village.
Ms. Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Regional police spokesperson, confirmed that detectives have visited the scene, and investigations are now underway. No suspects have been arrested at this time, but Ms. Kawala expressed confidence in apprehending those responsible for this heinous act, reassuring the public.
The tragic incident has raised concerns among some residents in Kizibawo, who suspect a connection to beliefs in witchcraft. Moses Kasirye, a resident, expressed his concerns but emphasized the importance of allowing the police to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a comprehensive report on the matter.
