The Ruparelia Foundation is the main sponsor of the 9th Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards and Convention. The foundation’s chairman, Sudhir Ruparelia, will be the chief guest at the ceremony on August 29 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The foundation will cover the full cost of the event. The evening will include a formal program that ends with a four-course gala dinner, featuring reggae music and various cultural performances.
The convention will bring together Pan-African thinkers, business leaders, and influential figures from around the world. Delegates are expected from countries like Jamaica, Canada, the United States, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya.
Andrew Irumba Katusabe, the founding speaker and chairman of the Pan-African Pyramid, noted that this sponsorship is a big step for the organization, which has been running for over a decade with little financial support. He mentioned that after years of keeping the initiative alive mostly through hard work and volunteer efforts, the organization appreciates that Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, through the Ruparelia Foundation, has taken on the sponsorship role for this year’s awards.
The Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Pan-African ideals, unity across the continent, and social and economic growth. Honorees come from various fields, including leadership, academia, entrepreneurship, arts, and lifetime achievement.
Besides the awards ceremony, the convention will also serve as a space for intellectual discussion. Participants will engage in talks about Africa’s economic development, ideological renewal, and future cooperation on the continent.
Irumba added that Dr. Sudhir’s involvement with the organization did not start with this year’s sponsorship. He stated that the businessman had previously provided logistical support and encouragement to the Pan-African Pyramid before officially becoming the headline sponsor.
For the organization, which has relied mainly on volunteer support and commitment since it began, partnering with one of Uganda’s leading business figures marks a new phase of growth and an increased ability to advance its Pan-African mission.
