One person has been killed in Tribal clashes that have in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement. According to the reports given by the police, over 30 people were injured and rushed to the Hospital where they were admitted. The violence is reportedly linked to tensions between Nuer and new Sudanese arrivals.
Ugandans who took to social media platforms to speak on this called upon the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces to take action in order to contain the situation.
Police who spoke about this incident revealed that several police officers were deployed at the scene of the incident.
In other news, Ugandas Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has called upon Ugandans to work hand in hand with the police ahead of the upcoming Presidential Elections.
The CDF who was speaking about security in Uganda revealed that the UPDF is dealing with urban criminality in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Region, Wakiso District and Entebbe.
He also said that the UPDF is going to be monitoring the situation on the ground during the General Elections, adding that suspects who will attempt to cause chaos are going to be dealt with by the Law.
