Security is investigating New Best Hotel-Busega over alleged sex trafficking.
And a raid on the Masaka Road based popular hangout is imminent, this publication has learnt.
One of the victims recently tipped security how proprietors are allegedly involved in trafficking young girls from different parts of the country into their facilities to profiteer from them.
She says that the hotel owners entice poor young girls by promising them cleaning and maintaining hotel rooms jobs, but on reaching the facility, they are coerced to do commercial sex, by introducing them to skimpy outfit dressing, entertaining guests in sauna, massage parlors, and as well offering room sex services.
They are also allegedly made to engage in erotic nude dance known as ‘kimansulo’ in front of the audience where sometimes they undress and have live sex on stage with revellers—there is video evidence of this.
They reportedly work day and night and sometimes without rest, because the place is a bee hive of activities—bar, soccer, gym, pool table, restaurant, betting, sauna, massage and among others.
It is feared most of these girls may have been exposed to sexually transmitted diseases because they have unprotected sex with innocent men.
The allegations were also corroborated by a former employee, Christine Babirye, 23, following her arrest last week.
On 22nd this month, when her daughter fell sick and was later admitted in Mulago Hospital, she had no option but to attend to her.
She allegedly borrowed shs500,000 from the Hotel supervisor Tom Bogere to help her with the treatment.
Unfortunately, when they were discharged from the hospital, and reported back to the Hotel, she found the Hotel management had unfairly doubled up her debt.
She ended up being detained at Busega police post before being released on Sunday 28 after intervention of relatives.
Area leaders accuse Police of willfully ignoring warning signs that sexual exploitation was taking place at the hotel.
