Police has identified the 14 South Sudan Refugees who were struck dead by lighting in the afternoon of Sunday, 2nd November, 2024.
According to the Police Spokesperson, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the incident happened during a prayer service at a church in Zone 8, Block 2. in Palabek Settlement Camp, Lamwo district.
The victims had gathered for prayers when the rain started around 5:00PM and the lightning thunder struck at 5:30 PM. Victims were evacuated to Paluda health center III
In a statement issued today, 3rd November, Kituuma identifies the deceased persons as;
