The usual *252# USSD code that you may be accustomed to, requires subscribers to have airtime on their MTN or Airtel lines before dialing the code. Lycamobile recently launched a short USSD code to help subscribers load data and airtime via other networks (MTN or Airtel) without any Airtime charges. If you want to purchase data on Lycamobile Uganda, here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: To purchase data via MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money start by dialing *217*402# from your Lyca mobile phone. The code will launch the Menu of Lycamobile Services.
Step 2: Enter the Lycamobile number you want to buy data for.
Step 3: Go ahead and select the validity of your data bundle package; Monthly, Weekly bundle, or Daily Bundle.
Step 4: Now select the preferable data plan.
Step 5: Details regarding your data bundle purchase will appear on your screen. If all information is correct, select the Continue option.
Step 6: Confirm payment with your mobile money PIN as prompted. That’s it!! You have loaded the preferred Lycamobile data bundle without an airtime charge.
