Residents of Gombe, Nansana Municipality, have been left shocked by a family feud in which a father accused his son of having an affair with his wife.
David Ssekabira, 50, reported his son, Shafik Walusimbi, 30, to local council (LC) authorities, accusing him of sleeping with his stepmother, Christine Ndagire, 24.
During a meeting with the LC, Ndagire alleged that Walusimbi lured her to his home under false pretenses and forced himself on her. She said fear of shame prevented her from reporting the incident to her husband.
Walusimbi, however, admitted to having a sexual relationship with Ndagire but claimed it was consensual. He also stated his actions were motivated by revenge, accusing his father of having an affair with his girlfriend.
The local chairperson, Ssalongo Kamya, attempted to mediate the situation but eventually referred the matter to the police, citing its complexity and sensitivity as beyond the council’s authority.
