Tiktoker Senga Acid Accused of Blackmailing Deputy Speaker Tayebwa and MPs

Ugandan Tiktoker Senga Acid is at the center of controversy after being accused of blackmailing Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa and other Members of Parliament for money.

The allegations surfaced following a video posted by Senga Acid, where she reportedly made claims about the Deputy Speaker’s personal life.

Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa responded to the allegations, stating, “I just woke up and saw some lady running a video on me, claiming I am involved with some celebrity woman in town. She appeared serious, calling it breaking news.”

Speaking further, Tayebwa revealed that the individual behind the video is operating from Canada. “I found out that she is doing this while hiding in Canada. She is on TikTok,” he added.

The Deputy Speaker denied knowing the person mentioned in the video, emphasizing, “She is talking about someone I don’t know, someone I have never talked to. I have been told she is called Senga Acid, and she is born here in Uganda.”

The incident has sparked debate on social media about the misuse of platforms like TikTok for spreading unverified information and making unfounded allegations.

While authorities have not yet confirmed the next steps regarding these accusations, the case has drawn significant public attention.

As investigations unfold, many are calling for stronger measures to address the growing trend of online defamation and blackmail.
